
The Honorable Jennifer L. Rochon

Judge Jennifer L. Rochon was sworn in as a United States District Court Judge for the Southern District of New York on August 12, 2022. Before taking the bench, Judge Rochon was the first General Counsel for the Girl Scouts of the United States of America, a Congressionally chartered nonprofit organization. In this role, she provided legal counsel and strategic advice to executive management and the Board of Directors on a wide array of legal matters, including litigation oversight, corporate governance, risk, compliance, and intellectual property. Prior to this, she practiced at a New York law firm where she was a litigation partner and member of the firm’s executive management committee. At the firm, she litigated numerous complex commercial matters, as well represented companies and individuals in a variety of criminal and regulatory investigations. Judge Rochon attended the New York University School of Law, and then clerked for the Honorable Maryanne Trump Barry on the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, and on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Judge Rochon received her Bachelors of Arts degree with distinction from the University of Michigan. She also served in the United States Peace Corps in the early 1990s as a secondary school mathematics teacher.
