Aidan Grano-Mickelsen is Executive Director, Counsel at Eli Lilly and Company, where he works at the intersection of legal strategy, regulatory policy, and public communications. He leads litigation, policy, and enforcement strategy across a broad range of issues, including federal government and private litigation, regulatory and administrative matters, Lanham Act claims, and proceedings before the National Advertising Division (NAD). Before joining Lilly, Aidan spent over a decade in government and private practice litigating complex federal matters. He served as an Assistant Special Counsel & Attorney-Advisor at the U.S. Department of Justice. He also served as the second-most senior appellate attorney at the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Virginia, where he managed more than 150 criminal appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and received the Attorney General's Award for Distinguished Service. Prior to his government service, he practiced appellate litigation at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. Outside the office, Aidan is an enthusiastic home cook, an avid reader of science fiction and fantasy novels, and a hobbyist mixologist.
