Melissa Smith is Deputy General Counsel, Global Litigation and IP, at SmileDirectClub. In addition to management of the company's trademark, patent, copyright, trade secret, and domain name portfolios, Melissa oversees domestic and foreign litigation, including advertising disputes. Melissa's practice also includes providing counsel on new advertising claims, marketing campaigns, and general advertising compliance inquiries. Before joining SmileDirectClub, Melissa was partner in the Nashville office of Stites & Harbison, where she focused her practice on patent litigation, trademark prosecution and litigation, and related intellectual property matters. Melissa is a graduate of Lipscomb University and the University of Tennessee College of Law.
