Jorge Rivera's research studies how firms' strategies are affected by climate change’s adversity and disasters. The latest findings of this research appear in his co-authored book: Business Adaptation to Climate Change (Cambridge U. Press, 2022); winner of the 2023 Best Book Awards from the ONE and SIM Divisions of the Academy of Management. I He has also examined the competitive effects of green certification programs and environmental regulations. He has written over 50 publications, including several dozen journal articles and three books. These manuscripts have been printed in top academic publications including the Strategic Management Journal, Conservation Biology, World Developtment, the Policy Studies Journal, and Policy Sciences. Jorge's book, Business and Public Policy received the 2011 Outstanding Book Award by the Academy of Management's ONE Division. His publications’ findings have been mentioned in more than 30 news stories by national and international newspapers including the New York Times, The Financial Times, CNN, and the Denver Post. He is the founding Co-Editor of the Cambridge University Press’s Book series on Organizations and the Natural Environment. In 2012, Jorge served as the Chair of the Academy of Management’s ONE Division.
