Dr. Wilken is a clinical and research neuropsychologist, and he has been a practicing partner at the Neuropsychology Associates of Fairfax (NAF) since 2006. He received his B.S. from Cornell University and his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Maryland at College Park. He completed predoctoral training at the National Institutes of Health, Walter Reed Army Medical Center, and Johns Hopkins University Hospital, and he completed his post-doctoral training at Georgetown University Medical Center and Washington, D.C. Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He then worked as the director of the neuropsychology program at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Washington, D.C., for 8 years before joining NAF. Dr. Wilken has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal publications and published abstracts on the cognitive effects of allergy, the cognitive effects and side effects of medications, computerized cognitive screening tools, and the cognitive symptoms of MS. His research has been presented at national and international scientific conferences, including the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), the National Academy of Neuropsychology (NAN), the European Committee for Research and Treatment in MS (ECTRIMS), and the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers (CMSC). He is the current President of the CMSC, is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the Georgetown University Medical Center, and is the founder and director of the Washington Neuropsychology Research Group (WNRG).
